NX Movie Aide
NX Movie Aide is a must-have application for your Sony CLIE NX. It lets the Movie Player application play movie files with any file name. Normally they must have names like MOV00001.MQV, which makes it impossible to tell which video is which when you're trying to organize them or you're transfering videos to your Memory Stick. Now when you encode a movie using the Image Converter application (found on the CD that came with your NX) and rename the movie on your PC's hard drive, you can put it onto your NX without having to rename the file first. This makes organizing your movies on your PC very easy.
You can view the MQV files that the Image Converter and Movie Rec. applications save your videos as and open them with Quicktime v.6. Renaming them to .MOV and double clicking on them will also work. NX Movie Aide lets you rename these files so that it's easier to tell which movie is which when you're viewing them on your PC as well.

Installation and Use
Installing NX Movie Aide is simple. Just HotSync it to your Clie, and it's ready to go. If you want to read the help file or if you want to register NX Movie Aide, then open it from the applications launcher.
Using NX Movie Aide is just as simple. Once it is installed, movies with any file name will be recognized by Movie Player on the NX Clie. However, there is one limitation that you should be aware of -- if you change or remove the Memory Stick while you are in Movie Player, then the file names will be changed back to the MOV0001.MQV style. Also, if you put a different Memory Stick in after launching Movie Player, its movies may not be recognized by Movie Player. You just have to switch out of Movie Player if you want to change or remove a Memory Stick (there is little that can be done about this).
